Erna & Hermann | The foundation stone
It all started with a farm - and with Erna. Full of energy and with the courage to try something new, she transformed the farm into a small ice cream parlor and later into a lively restaurant. In 1977, the moment had come: Together with Hermann, she opened the Pension St. Leonhard. Nine rooms, each with its own bathroom - anything but a matter of course at the time. But for Erna it was clear: if anything, it had to be done right. Hermann, always reliable and with a smile on his face, supported her every step of the way. Her courage, her passion and her sense of quality laid the foundations for a house that was to become much more than just a place to stay - a home where people feel peace, warmth and hospitality.
Christa & Thomas | The builders
Christa and Thomas took over the house in 1987 and carefully led it into a new era. The first extension followed in 1990, and in 1994 rooms were combined to increase comfort - always according to the principle: not bigger, but better. In 1998, the spacious spa area was created, a bold step for 17 rooms and 32 beds at the time. Thomas was the man in charge of the kitchen and operations, Christa kept the numbers under control and gave the hotel its special touch with style and that certain something extra. With a love of detail, the courage to change and an unshakeable sense of quality, they turned "Das Leonhard" into a place where peace, pleasure and warmth are tangible.
Sandra & Nico | The designers
In 2015, Nicola Christian took over the hotel with a clear goal in mind: no extra beds, but a hotel that offers every guest state-of-the-art comfort, generous space and natural materials. In 2017, "Die Seeseitn" was created, the kitchen area was modernized, and the new wood chip system including solar in the CHALET marked an important step towards a sustainable future. In 2021, all the remaining rooms were completely renovated - with deep balconies, large windows and a clear, straightforward style that brings the tranquillity of Lake Weissensee into every room. Since 2023, Sandra has enriched the house with her kitchen, where attention to detail and respect for food are palpable. Together, Sandra and Nico create "Das Leonhard" as a place that harmonizes nature, peace and enjoyment - a home where every moment can be consciously experienced and the soul draws new strength.
